Whatever B&BNowadays I play with my wife as a Coutry Duo: Country Duo Whatever B&B As amplification for my guitars, a Tele '52 reissue en a self-built Strat, I used a modeling unit: Digitech GNX2. My first real guitar amp was a Fender Twin Reverb. Very nice sound but very loud as well! The amp weighed a lot, the flight-case made it even worse. Later on I played with two MesaBoogie amps: Studio .22. Really nice amps. But since we left our band and started a duo, the amps were doing nothing. I sold one, the other stood in the garage for three years. Peter van Weelden, a tube-amp doctor, did a nice check-up, but it wasn't my amp anymore. After a long search, I finally found my amp: a Fender Deluxe Reveb. The Fender sound again. This time a blackface. Not too heavy, not too loud but enough headroom for our gigs. After a lot of searching and surfing the internet, I found Weber. The idea of building an amp myself was born. Asking questions on the Weber Forum on which speaker(s) to use I met Marc Vos of FoxAmps. Marc deliverd me the kit, mostly a Weber kit but with some different parts. Sunday 27 of july 2008, my wife Betty and I drove to Marc to pick up the kit. This web-site shows the building of the amp:
A special thanks goes to all the people on the Weber Forum for being very patient with me and helping me out with most problems. Bert ten Hove, the Netherlands |
